My Visit to Costa Rica

In 2005, I visited Costa Rica for the first time.  My husband and I were overcome by the natural beauty of our surroundings and the kindness of the Costa Rican people.

We flew into San Jose, and after a speedy cab ride along narrow roads, we arrived at the most beautiful hotel.  An hotel owner, from Italy, built his "dream hotel" in Costa Rica.....52 rooms with gorgeous views, aviaries, and truly perfect weather.

The first morning, we awoke to the sounds of cockatiels on our balcony.  Cockatiels....just like our pet at home.....but, these were flying around imitating voices and sounds in the wild.  Incredible!

We took a trip to the zoo and saw the largest crocodile on earth (at least, it seemed like that to me).

We spent a day strolling around the markets in San Jose.  My husband went deep sea fishing in the turqouise blue waters.  Other, more adventurous, friends went zip-lining and horseback riding.

Did I mention the coffee????  To this day, I have never had a better cup of coffee.  My husband and I are "cream and sugar" people, but not in Costa Rica.  One sip and we couldn't even think about adding anything else.  We were there for a wedding and the one thing that everyone talked about was the coffee.  On the last day in Costa Rica, we all had to hit the market again to bring home the coffee beans.

I, highly, recommend Costa Rica as a vacation destination and a place to live out your dreams.
